About R.E.W

I am author, artist, history buff, wishing to share these three passions of mine with anyone who cares to read this blog. The main drive between these three deep interests of mine is imagination.

History isn't just people and events in a dusty book. Writing isn't just words in a tome. Art isn't just random images in a photograph, sketch or painting. I'll give you examples of what they really are.

In 2009 I wrote a rather spectral, ominous poem that I have forgotten till now.  If you can, try to discern the patent warning in the lines.

An old house sits gravely upon the hill

Though only a ghost lingers still

He sleeps in the closet and brushes past

A weary traveler who hardly gasps

Before he sprints out the door

Away from the chilling moor

A fog closes in, locking in its prey

To ward off the good and children gay

Up in the attic there sits that ghoul

His mind set with guilt on the life so cruel

His past is a mirror that casts his reflection

On the haunting figure that shows no affection

Cries of anguish float along

Among the forest, a mournful song

Echoes among caves and along rocky coasts

To warn the other fellow ghosts

Of a dreadful future that is to come

To anyone who dares hum

That song of wicked and evil men

That seals the fate and the gates of heaven

Weddings cease and funerals come

To warn the future worldly kingdom

Of a horrible fate

That closes the gate

Of a pleasanter chance to gain

A wonderful life that is now thrown away

Avoiding the poor and following the rich

This is a far evil pitch

On the ship to disaster

The Satan himself, now his master

So this lonely ghost who wanders to belfry

Still haunts the hearts of the rich and hearty

That their fate will someday come

And their lives will close the gates of God’s kingdom
