About R.E.W

I am author, artist, history buff, wishing to share these three passions of mine with anyone who cares to read this blog. The main drive between these three deep interests of mine is imagination.

History isn't just people and events in a dusty book. Writing isn't just words in a tome. Art isn't just random images in a photograph, sketch or painting. I'll give you examples of what they really are.

I didn’t say very much about this Christmas, so I’ll talk about it here. I always like going back over family photos of Christmas morning–sleepy eyed kids and (especially sleepy eyed parents) smiling blissfully into the camera, holding up a gift “from Santa”. My mom got especially creative this year and wrote on the packages “From the Head Elf” or “From Prancer and Rudolph” or “From Old St. Nick”. We had Christmas a day after the actual Christmas but it felt like it really was the actual day and we loved it. It was a beautiful morn, with the gray light seeping faintly in through the blinds, laughter and shouting echoing through the house as we ripped open our wrapping paper to behold our very special gifts from our dear parents. I wanted to share some photos of Christmas mornings in the past:

First four photos (below): My sister, Abigail, my brother Ben, and my sister Katie and me The final three are of Micah, Jhony, Abby and I

You can see the genuine expressions of delight on our faces. Especially Ben’s.

I had a magical Christmas morning. Here is what I unwrapped:

  • Mistress Pat by L.M. Montgomery
  • The Golden Road by L.M. Montgomery
  • Kilmeny of the Orchard by L.M. Montgomery
  • Jane of Lantern Hill by L.M. Montgomery (I love this author, you know)
  • The whole Anne of Green Gables set
  • Prismacolor Skin tones and a deluxe set with every color of the rainbow and beyond
  • Two art pads *dreams blissfully of what will fill those two art pads*
  • A handsome red journal with daily scriptures in it
  • The 1970’s version of Little Women
  • The movie The Inheritance
  •  The Complete History of WWII (a DVD set of documentaries and live recordings of WWII major events)
  • Four CDs
  • Jesus Lives–a beautiful devotional
