Rebecca's PenThe creative works of R.E.W.

About R.E.W

I am author, artist, history buff, wishing to share these three passions of mine with anyone who cares to read this blog. The main drive between these three deep interests of mine is imagination.

History isn't just people and events in a dusty book. Writing isn't just words in a tome. Art isn't just random images in a photograph, sketch or painting. I'll give you examples of what they really are.

A week or so ago I wrote this poem. Draw from it what you feel when you read it. It has special context . . . many of us may have felt like this once. Enjoy :)

You think it’s unnecessary

To believe in something you can’t see.

To trust in someone invisible

How can He just be?

You look at the stars

And try not to cry

Cause your worlds fallin’

Apart, like shattering jars.

It doesn’t seem real

To you it’s an illusion

That’s taunting and calling (you)

‘It’s a lie’, is just what you feel

Then one day someone leaves

Gone with the wind

And you’re staring at the sky

Trying to understand—Why God, please?

It’s a bad dream

You can’t wake up from

Like wandering in a graveyard

Of fears on the path of pain’s scheme

Don’t go down that road

Don’t follow the anger and fear

Try to listen to the voice

In love that can’t be slowed

It’s all around you

Just waiting for you to notice

And reach out to it

Crying but safe and washed new
